Belly Cast

These are my very primitive attempts with making belly casts.  How some people get them smooth is beyond me.  By the time I get the darn things stable enough to not collapse, the last thing I'm going to do is start sanding on them.

A couple of you had not heard of such things, so this post is for you.

Please excuse the picture quality,
the flash reflects on the glossy finish

I have heard of these. I honestly can't recall when I posed for you though. Yeah, the one with the torn brown paper. Since I'm not pregnant, does it still count as art?
You do a wonderful job and these are very cool!

If i had a belly cast right now people would think they're looking at an elephant belly. Ugh. Yours however are awesome and a wonderful momento,..and can I say I love your comments -- you always make me laugh...

Those are all gorgeous! What do people do with them generally when they're finished? I can see it as part of the nursery.

You painted those? They're amazing! I love the one with the baby on it.

Sarah, they are a great memento, just large and bulky.

Kristy, you need to line someone up to do one for you, when the time comes!

Very nice! I think they are gorgeous! I've done plaster casts on my own face(not recommended if you are claustrophobic and home alone) and other body parts. so I know how hard doing them can be. I think yours are beautiful! - G

I have NEVER heard of these before, but I am quite intrigued. I will be blaming you for the additional time I will be spending googling belly casts. And I must say I'm a little sad that my daughter will not be preggers anymore. I would have enjoyed doing this with her!!!

Peggy K, you will find some great ones hanging around in cyberspace! Happy Googling!
