Monday evening, after dinner, hubby and I took a drive down to the water. Gawd, it was still hotter than blue blazes, but we walked around for a bit, so I could take a few photos. Fish were jumping all over the place and I TRIED to catch some shots. Talk about hard. I never knew where they were going to jump! I got numerous shots of the after-splash, but did manage to get a few of the actual fish. Unfortunately, the shots look more like ugly water, with spots, but if you enlarge them... you CAN see the fish. Some shots had more than one fish. (not sure if any of these do)
The camera is still proving to be a bit of a beast for me, however, it is keeping my interest. Someday, I hope to have photos that are much better. Until then, I hope I don't bore you too much while I practice.
Saturday was a long day that started with an alarm clock. I'm not a fan of having to wake up to one, it puts me in a lousy mood. I'd much rather wake up when my body decides, not to a horrid noise that startles the snot out of me. Woke up to rain.
Today was dance recitals for two of the granddaughters. In my exhausted state, I can't even remember how many this makes for "Twink", however, this was the first for "Tink". She has been a reluctant dance student. She thought she wanted to do it, then she didn't want to do it, but stuck with it for the year. Not sure if she will do it next year, but she was pretty stinkin' adorable on stage.
Twink, the older one, was awarded "Dancer Of The Year". She earned it. She has worked her butt off since changing studios this year and it shows.
We're so proud of you, both!
Happy Father's Day to my Hubby, oldest Son, Son in Law and all you Dads out there! Enjoy your day!
After what seems like forever, I finally did it. I got a new camera! I think I have pestered nearly every blogger that posts photos, for the past couple of years, asking questions about what camera they use, admiring their fabulous photos, envying, crying, stressing and generally making a nuisance of myself. Now if I could just figure the thing out and develop an eye, maybe I can leave everyone alone and entertain myself.
My Sister went out of her way to go pick it up for me and I thank her tremendously. She has informed me I owe her, big time.
Thanks to my kids, for encouraging me and not making me think it was stupid to want something so badly.
A special thanks to Barbara, for snapping me out of it when I told her I had gotten the camera and was too paralyzed with fear to do anything. Her advice, "Just start shooting!" So I did.
It will probably take a long time for me to learn the functions and get comfortable with it, but I hope to have a great time learning. I also hope it will encourage me to actually get out of the house, which will make hubby very happy.
Thank you bloggers, for giving me inspiration!
Wish me luck!
