Have A Wonderful Memorial Day

Remember the sacrifice of all who made it possible.

Many lost their lives, to protect ours.  I don't believe you had to lose your life in a war, to be forever changed by it.  To all who have served, or are serving, God bless you!

It's easy to get caught up in the bbqing and beer guzzling and forget the true meaning beind the "holiday" ... Hope you had a relaxing, yet pensive weekend.

It's easy to forget why we have the day off. Those men and women who have given so much for our freedoms are true heroes in every sense of the word.

Ms A, what a moving tribute...many gracious thanks...if you don't mind sharing, who are
those young men in the photographs you posted?
The Ultimate Sacrifice. Poppy fields...a moment
of silent prayer to not only those lost or forever wounded but also their loved ones, families, and the wide circle who continue to suffer silently their losses year after year...they, too, are heroes.

Before I moved, they had a lovely ceremony each Memorial Day in the local cemetery. The high school band played an appropriate piece of music and the vets who've died during the previous year were honored. It was quite moving.

I don't have vets in my family, but nonetheless, it's important to me.

People are slowly forgetting Memorial Day, a DAY to remember.

Thank you for reminding us this is not just a day to get your yard work done.
