Blogger Blunders

Update:  Due to the large number of complaints, this has been removed!

I don't like the new "Lightbox" feature blogger has installed without the option to opt out.  Many of the blogs I follow, post amazing photography.  I have always been able to click, to enlarge the photos and see the detail.  This new feature doesn't allow that.  The fact that it was foisted on us, with no warning and limited options to those who aren't computer savvy enough to figure out how to disable it, is appalling.

While searching for answers, I discovered many who feel the same way.

I am a miniscule fish in the ocean of bloggers out there and struggle with changes.  To those of you bigger and smarter, what is your opinion?

Karen, Connie, Pat, Betsy, Vicki, Bonnie, Lisa and many others whose photos I so admire... YOU HAVE BEEN ROBBED OF THE ABILITY FOR YOUR READERS TO ENLARGE YOUR PHOTOS AND SEE THE SPLENDOR AND DETAIL.  PLEASE, DO SOMETHING.  COMPLAIN TO BLOGGER.  LET THEM HEAR FROM YOU!  YOUR FOLLOWERS NEED TO BE ABLE TO APPRECIATE YOUR PHOTOS!

Sorry for screaming.  I don't know what else to do.  We need options.  Someone bigger and smarter needs to help.  I can't do it.  I struggle to do what I do, as it is.

PLEASE!

Swarm

I stepped outside yesterday and was shocked at what I saw.  One of the sago palms looked like it was moving, only it wasn't the palm, it was what was on it.  I grabbed the camera and tried to capture what I was seeing, but the video doesn't do it justice, at all.

This is very short and you may have to pop it out in order to see what I'm talking about.  Without the camera, the light hit their wings and the base of the palm looked like it was writhing.  In addition to the ones with wings, there were tons, without wings.  Look at the fronds when I pan up and see if you can catch it.

This is the stuff nightmares are made of and it was much more creepy in person.

If you can't tell what they are... it's ants.  Big ants!  We've had horrible issues with them this year.

Hallelujah

Finally, we had some rain!  Not nearly enough to end the drought conditions, but we'll take what we can get.

Haven't heard the sounds of rain and thunder, nearly enough these past few months.  I'd love to hear it again, soon, as long as it doesn't have a name attached to it!

Instead

Last night I had a beautiful tribute to 9/11 planned for today, sent to me by my cousin Polly.  I was relieved to have something touching, that didn't have to be created in my own head.  However, after a long day spent celebrating my Granddaughter's birthday earlier in the week, I came home to find a disturbing email from a friend.  I wept for her and the struggle she is facing.  So, while I remember the tragedy of 9/11, ten years ago, I want my friend to know my thoughts and prayers are with her and the battle she is facing today and for many days to come.

Linda, I'm here for you, I'm thinking of you, I'm praying for you and my heart is breaking for you.

God Bless You!

Smoke From A Distant Fire

A couple of people have asked if the wildfires were in my area.  I'm relieved to report, they aren't.  We have been seeing the smoke on the horizon.  Prayers to everyone dealing with them.  My heart goes out to you!

My cousin emailed me some horrifying photos and I would like to share one.  I'm not sure who to credit it to, so I'll just say, "Thank you, Linda"

This (below) was my view of the smoke from the fires.  I hope that's as close as I get!

What we really need, is rain.  Desperately.
