I've had a bad case of the blahs and it's been hard to find the energy to read the blogs I follow, much less make a post.
Mike is doing pretty good. At clinic last Wednesday, they recommended him to a neurologist for the pain and numbness in his left leg and an opthalmologist for his failing vision. This weekend his right leg began swelling again. I'm ready for some peace and quiet from the constant worry.
Enough about that for today. I haven't been anywhere away from the house to take photos, however, our bluebonnets in the backyard were able to capture my attention on two different occasions. The bees were working overtime and provided a brief diversion. I miss using my camera and need the opportunity to get back to trying to figure it out. I've already forgotten so much!

I can't imagine what you are going thru - but I know this - in spite of it all - you are seeing the beauty around you. sandie
Oh! I love these pictures! Take it easy, Ms. A. Sending good wishes for your son's health!
Gorgeous bees and lupine! Take care of yourself. Rest. We are always here waiting for you. Blessings!
Hi, I am here to give you a little free advice. You can pay me later!!!!! ha ha
YOU--the Caregiver---needs to take a break every once in awhile. In order to stay strong, you HAVE to... Get other members of the family to take care of him so that you can get away even for a couple of days... It will help EVERYONE --especially YOU.
A Caregiver has the HARDEST job in the entire world. In order to stay healthy yourself, you MUST think about yourself.... I hope you do!!!!
Great photos... NOW---get out in nature and relax for a few days....
Hugs and PRAYERS,
Betsy
Gorgeous photos!!! Hugs and prayers here too...great advice from Betsy :)
Take care...
Blessings,
Cindy
these are just beautiful. i am so sorry for the wear this is taking on you. there is no relief anyone can give you until he gets better.
Third photo is my favorite, I can't tell you exactly why. Good thing there's no pressure here!!
I'm continuing to send good wishes for Mike's recovery. So stressful for everyone... Mike, too.
Being outdoors with your camera - even in the backyard - is a good way of escaping for a moment. I can imagine how you have missed it! It´s lovely to have you back, I hope you can start taking these camera moments for yourself.. You need it after this terrible winter you all have been going trough... Sending love and strength for you!
These pictures prove that you haven't forgotten too much -- they're wonderful. I hope you can find the time to at least get out into your yard to enjoy the Spring weather.
The health challenges seem relentless. I can see why it is wearing you down. The constant stress from worry can't be healthy. Listen to the advice to take care of yourself...even if just for a little time each day.
The pictures are stunning.
Wonderful photos! Sending best wishes to Mike.
these are indeed gorgeous!
can't imagine what you're going through... but i so admire your strong attitude/mind my friend. please stay strong and take good care of yourself. sending love, strength and positive thoughts your way.
i've been praying and will continue to pray for michael, you and your family!
(((hugs)))
p.s. kindly Thank You for your wonderful comment and kind words on my blog. deeply appreciated.
Beautiful! You can feel the peace!
I haven't been blog hopping much lately, but you are still in my prayers!
I'm glad you were able to take a respite from the worry about your son while viewing these lovely blooms and the bees. Take care my friend. xo
I was wondering about you and how your son was doing. Still praying that things settle down for you and him so that you and hubby can enjoy his retirement.
The photos are great! Too close to the bee for my taste, hope you didn't get stung ;o)
Glad to see that we are all sharing the load when it comes to worrying about how you are holding up. It's hard to settle into a 'normal' routine, when stuff refuses to settle down. Take a deep breath, care for YOURSELF so you can be a better caregiver, and let go of things that don't matter. FWIW, taking pictures and appreciating the fascinating activity of bees DOES matter.
Betsy is smart!
Hang tough lovely woman. Your son is so lucky to have such a lovely momma.
smooches
Absolutely beautiful!!!!
And sweet friend, take more time away to just restore yourself. There's no reason to do anything that makes you feel the blahs!
wow--what gorgeous photos--you have such a gift---praying for you and mike---may you find healing, peace joy and comfort this day--God bless you <3
You have every reason to have the blahs. I can hardly imagine how difficult this time has been for you. I will repeat what Betsy said, give yourself some "me" time. Still praying for all of you.
Good on Mike Ms A, let's hope he keeps on fighting and getting better. These photos are incredible too, it's so good to see that you haven't dropped in standards even the slightest with your photography despite everything that's been going on.
I LIVE with the blahs. We each carry a basket where we can place flowers, but life fills it with hurt, fear and burdens til there's no room for the pretty things.
You, my lady, are an extremely strong person; a wonderful mom. I've been saying to you also to take care of YOU, but I know that's easier said than done.
Today I have been reflecting and trying to hold on to the goodness and happy times we had with Ben. This would have been his 22nd birthday. Give Mike a little extra hug from me, and thank you for being exactly who you are. Love you lots!
like everyone else said before me, you need to take care of yourself, too. keep going out to your backyard and shooting those beautiful flowers and bees---they really will make you feel better. take a deep breath and keep moving forward. i'm thinking of you!
I miss bluebonnets! Thank you for sharing these.
I can only imagine the amount of stress you are under. Sending you hugs and prayers.
And listen to everyone who has said that you need to take care of you first; because they are right.
Ms. A, photographically you have forgotten NOTHING! You may have forgotten inner peace, joy, and happiness, for whose would not have been sorely tested? So many are pulling for him. For you, my prayer is that you regain the curiosity of a child and the enthusiasm you first discovered when the camera opened up new vistas and open horizons for possibilities awaiting discovery. These photographs make me happy, so please do not let your muse go it alone...she is there waiting for you!
These are beautiful captures! I'm glad the bluebonnets are growing close enough for you to enjoy them. I hope you're able to get out and get a break more often. Keeping all of you in my prayers!!
You haven't forgotten a thing regarding using your camera. The photos are awesome. The color is superb. I wanted to reach out and pet the bee.
Beautiful captures, Ms. A! Love the soft colors!
Lovely! I'm glad you got a chance for a little 'you' time : )
That is kind of like bee porn.
Seeing tour awesome pictures again are refreshing. I hope You get more moments like this.
I'm so glad you're getting out and looking at some beautiful flowers. You have to have breaks in order to keep going. :)
Big hugs from me to you.
Marie
Best wishes always. What a beautiful sequence of photos. Spring. Things are slowly looking up....
I'm glad you got out and took some time for yourself. The photo's are beautiful. Sorry about your son's leg swelling. I'd tell you not to worry, but I'm a mother and I know that's not remotely possible. prayers and hugs...
I can totally understand what you're saying. I wish I could come up with a good suggestion or two, but I know there is no simple answer. It's easy to say get away for a while, but not always realistic or desirable. Seeing your child go through so much is never easy. It's an emotional roller coaster ride for sure. I'm praying for much better days ahead.
I am so happy you were able to find some time to enjoy the busy bee. Your blue bonnets are lovely. Photos are wonderful. Hugs!
Strangely enough, bluebonnets never make me blue. I love those pics. :)
I don't even have an excuse for the blahs..guess part of life is sometimes blahs, no matter what the circumstances..and maybe we could learn from that bee and when we get the blahs just keep busy?!
hang in there. I will pray a special intention for your family tonight before bed.
Worry is thoroughly exhausting. It's why you've got the blahs. Take care of yourself in the little ways, it's important.
LOVE these images..makes me want to plant those here!
I'd say you've earned a case of the blahs. Stress will do that to a person. You are all going through a lot.
These are beautiful photos! I can't wait until things get better for you guys. Then we can see more examples of your newly discovered photographic artistry!
I'm so sorry about your son -- I do hope these things resolve shortly. Maybe getting out with the camera more would be good therapy for you. Your photos are lovely. xo
sending prayers for micheal!
take care.
(((hugs)))
p.s. i wanted to let you know that i linked to you today.
I've been thinking of you this weekend. Go gentle today. Hugs to you.
Your pictures took me to a dreamlike state. Amazing. Thank you.
xoRobyn
Im a new reader so not sure what is going on, but I want to say your pictures are beautiful.
