Birds!

Anyone that's known me for more than 5 minutes, knows I'm not a fan of Christmas, or shopping and all the stress it causes.  Unfortunately, I can't escape either and was forced to venture out to try to get a few things.  Yes, it's late to be getting started.  Whatever.

Coming out of the store, we were greeted with birds.  Lots of birds.  We have several locations around town where birds seem to congregate, but this was the most I've ever seen, personally, in one place.  They were everywhere.

Excuse the video, it's a little dizzying.  I grabbed my little camera out of my purse and just turned it on and hit record as I was walking.

If you subscribe by email and this doesn't show up and you care to watch, just click on the title to get to the actual blog post.

If you don't have time to watch, you may be excused now.

Oh... yes, there was bird splat everywhere, too, even on my car!  Grrrr!

And about that non-holiday spirit....nah, i think I'll shut up :-)

I think they were planning something. Maybe an attack on the store.

That's kind of disturbing...reminded me of the movie.

Did they set off the car alarm or was that your way of getting rid of the birds?
I did some of my shopping on line and love it. This past garbage day, it looked like I was a branch of Amazon with so many boxes with smiles on it! I did go out yesterday and finished what I didn't want to buy on line. Hubby laughed at me because I refused to go home until it was ALL done!

Wow they look like a scene from the movie Birds.

Even with the 'splat' birds are amazing creatures. It's so cool how that many are in tune with each other at the same time!

This happens up here during the spring and late fall. I love how they kinda melt into each other.

And yes, that was a LOT of birds!

Fantastic! I love this kind of stuff--well, except for the poop.

OMG! It's right out of Hitchcock. I would have felt very uncomfortable. Perhaps it's an omen not to shop.

Whoa! Girl, you weren't kidding around; that a LOT of birds. Good for you taking a video; I think my camera does also but I haven't learned to use it yet.

Of course, this reminds me of the movie "the birds". :)

This video is so cool Ms A. I'm sorry to hear that you're getting run down by Christmas too, hopefully it's as unstressful, which isn't a word as possible.

Either they're late in leaving your area, or you're along the route. I would never have thought of taking the movie, so GOOD FOR YOU!! I'm glad they weren't vultures or sea gulls.

Well, I am one of those who LOVE Christmas - everything to do with it!

We never see birds like that around here - except for starlings when they are trying to decide whether to stay or leave.:-)

Like so many others, I immediately thought of Hitchcock. Freaky. At least you didn't get splat on. Plus, you got a great snippet for your blog.

Take care, and I hope you're done shopping (for your sake).

I love Christmas the way it used to be for us. Now? It's like the Christmas that wasn't. Every year. The birds? All I could think of was my daughter-in-law. She is deathly afraid of birds. She would have been running and screaming and truly hysterical! Glad you thought to video it!

I've seen them in the trees and on lines like that, but never in the parking lot and on cars. Wow!

Yikes!
Flocks gathering to head South before Winter is normal here but, that flock is simply enormously eerie! I was waiting to see Mr. Hitchcock's profile in the video!

As for the Holidays, hang in there & just enjoy the Family, Laughter & Love that surrounds you. Nothing else matters.

Grackles?

Now that'll teach you not to go Holiday shopping. Stay out of stores and enjoy a Merry Christmas Ms. A.
