Good And Gross In One Post

I would like to wish my Daughter and Son in law a very Happy 10th Anniversary!

That's the good part!

Now the gross part.

Remember the gecko photos I've posted recently?  Several wondered how I could touch them and my response was, if I don't rescue them, they will be eaten by a dust bunny... or get stepped on.

I was talking to hubby on the phone the other evening and stooped down to pick up what I thought was a piece of grass, tracked in from outside.

IT WASN'T GRASS.

No, I didn't make the photo big, because it's not like I'm proud of it.  Just showing you how easy it is to step on them.  They are tiny.

Now do you see why I choose to pick them up and put them outside?  The alternative is unthinkable!

Please, don't try to make me feel worse, okay?  I already feel really bad about it and I'm so sorry it happened and I did warn you.

Poor little thing!

LIFE IS SO FRAGILE. The photograph may not be one you are proud of, but it may be one that makes us stop and consider doing one thing at a time, mindfully, so that we become more conscious of the consequences of not paying attention. If they are so tiny, it is difficult to imagine having them everywhere without "collateral damage." I can't tell you how many flies I have condemned leaving my coffee cup out on the counter for hours at a time. My only consolation is to hope they love coffee as much as I do and they had a caffeinated (read: SPEEDY) demise.
A beautiful, poignant message, Ms. A. And congratulations to the Happy Couple! Ten Years, Go Love!

Awwwww that poor little Gecko :( I knew they were small, but that's very very small. But congratulations to your daughter and son in law :)

WOW I didn't realize they were that small either! I thought they were about the size of the different lizards that are class pets at school. I found this 'death' picture interesting thanks to the position it is in and the hint of guts on the side ;o)

Aww that's a shame about the gecko, it just shows how easy it is to kill them. Congratulations to your daughter and son on their tenth anniversary though, ten years is a long time to be together and is a milestone to be proud of.

My husband always picks up bugs and puts them outside.....You are Cool!!!!!!!!

My mother and father always said....If you can't say something good, don't say anything!! It is awesome advice.

Eck. If it was only the tail, it would be OK because I think it grows back? But apparently its not just the tail. You poor thing, Mrs A. Very traumatizing!

aww granny, Im so sorry! that would have made me cry. I smashed a baby lizard in the door jamb once...I made the hubby scrape it off, cause I couldnt bare to look at it.

Couldn't be helped. One of those accidental things.

As for the anniversary? Yay! Always nice to hear of success in the marriage department. :)

Poor little guy! We have one little family of Geckos here and we found one dead in the garage. It was a baby and I was so upset! We move them too! We have one baby left and he's usually up high around the front door.
Have a great weekend!

Awww, poor little guy. I asked you if they could survive outdoors, and it is so tiny!
But I could easily see how it happened.

Congratulations to Son and Daughter on their 10th anniversary!

Poor tiny!

This brings back memories; as a child, it was my job to catch and release the baby geckos hatched inside the house. It was really my job to try to catch ALL the geckos, but they get fast and wily after a while!

We had one that became a magnificent size living in the livingroom; huge, dark and crafty as a fox. To this day, I don't know WHAT he was eating...he was feeling the benefit of it, though!

I WON'T TOUCH THEM BUT THEY DON'T SCARE ME EITHER. NOW SNAKES, THEY SCARE ME TO DEATH. WE HAVE THEM IN OUR YARDS NOW AND THEN. SO HONEY I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY YOU HAVE TO WATCH WERE YOU STEP. ANOTHER GRANNY GRANNY P.S. LARGE LETTER SO I CAN SEE WHAT I TYPE. OLD AGE STINKS.LOL

There are many in our family whose mission would be to rescue them, too. I understand totally!

Congratulations to your Daughter and Son in Law

As far as the gecko goes you cant feel bad about it because you have asked them to stay outside.

Seriously as small as they are it's a wonder you haven't found more like this.

Don't feel badly about the gecko... You didn't mean to do it... They certainly are tiny.. We don't have them here --or at least not many of them.

Hope you have a good weekend/week.
Hugs,
Betsy

We have lizards all over the place and I've stepped on a couple of them myself. What I really hate is when they drown in our pool.
