Testing

After what seems like forever, I finally did it.  I got a new camera!  I think I have pestered nearly every blogger that posts photos, for the past couple of years, asking questions about what camera they use, admiring their fabulous photos, envying, crying, stressing and generally making a nuisance of myself.  Now if I could just figure the thing out and develop an eye, maybe I can leave everyone alone and entertain myself.

My Sister went out of her way to go pick it up for me and I thank her tremendously.  She has informed me I owe her, big time.

Thanks to my kids, for encouraging me and not making me think it was stupid to want something so badly.

A special thanks to Barbara, for snapping me out of it when I told her I had gotten the camera and was too paralyzed with fear to do anything.  Her advice, "Just start shooting!"  So I did.

It will probably take a long time for me to learn the functions and get comfortable with it, but I hope to have a great time learning.  I also hope it will encourage me to actually get out of the house, which will make hubby very happy.

Thank you bloggers, for giving me inspiration!

Wish me luck!

A friend once told me, "Pixels are cheap, so don't skimp on them." Wise advice that I am passing on to you. Take pictures, LOTS of pictures, try different things, and figure out what works for YOU.

That's why I go with a simple Sony 14 mp. By the time I figure out which settings to use, the subject has usually ran away or stopped blooming.

Agree that you should take lots and lots of pictures! Thank goodness for digital photos. I can remember taking pictures with film and half not turning out but having to pay for the development of them.
The photos you have so far are wonderful!

So what kind of camera did you end up with? I so want to take a photography class because I can't take a photo to save my life. But I need a new camera.

Now leave your house and get snappin'.
Those babies are so damn cute. I love those chubby legs!!! Somehow when they are on me - not so cute.

Read your manual, go online (Google really does know everything, even really, really stupid things. Trust me, I've asked him really, really stupid photography related things!) and practice step-by-step everything you learn. You will have SO much fun. Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll try and help. And yes, what kind of camera is it?

BTW, you live in a beautiful area!

When we get something we like so dearly, we're like kids who play with it until we become experts in handling it. Keep the desire to learn new tricks with your camera. More so, the brain works too when we fiddle with a new object. Have a great week ahead and I'm happy for you :D

I am pleased that you finally found me!
I have a Canon Power Shot, and it is pretty good...just focus and click, but I don't find it fast enough, or maybe I'm just too impatient, but it serves it's purpose though.

Oh yay! I'm so happy for you! And your pictures are beautiful! Is that Kemah?

Keep playing with it and you'll figure it out before you know it and sharing your results, I hope!

Beautiful photos! I think you chose a wonderful camera. I am completely relating to the "admiring, envying, crying, and stressing" over getting an amazing camera. I am SO close to getting the one I've fantasized about forever. I also understand the fear that hits once you have what you've been desiring forever.

One fine day, I'll have a great camera too!

Best wishes,

Zabrinah

These are incredible photos!!! I want your camera.

I have a new camera, myself, but I am so disappointed in it. It takes good pictures like yours... but only like one in every 100!

I'm thinking there's something wrong with my following you link. I'm going to re-follow... and hopefully I will start getting your posts in my reader.

Oh my goodness, your photos are beautiful! And, how absolutely adorable the onesie is! What gorgeous kiddos too!!! Your first shots are great. Keep 'em coming!! I admire you for buying the camera and taking the pics. I also want a nice camera, but I too am afraid of not knowing what I am doing. Enjoy and have FUN!
