Rain, Dancing and Exhaustion

Saturday was a long day that started with an alarm clock.  I'm not a fan of having to wake up to one, it puts me in a lousy mood.  I'd much rather wake up when my body decides, not to a horrid noise that startles the snot out of me.  Woke up to rain.

Today was dance recitals for two of the granddaughters.  In my exhausted state, I can't even remember how many this makes for "Twink", however, this was the first for "Tink".  She has been a reluctant dance student.  She thought she wanted to do it, then she didn't want to do it, but stuck with it for the year.  Not sure if she will do it next year, but she was pretty stinkin' adorable on stage.

Twink, the older one, was awarded "Dancer Of The Year".  She earned it.  She has worked her butt off since changing studios this year and it shows.

We're so proud of you, both!

Happy Father's Day to my Hubby, oldest Son, Son in Law and all you Dads out there!  Enjoy your day!

Both look so adorable in their outfits and love the dancer buns on their heads! Confession time: I looked at these pictures and all I could think about was the reality show 'Dance Moms' and wondered if that's why the youngest didn't like it.

I also hate waking to an alarm. Unfortunately, I've done it for so many years now my body thinks it's perfectly normal to wake up at the crack of dawn!

The girls are beautiful and I know you are so proud!

Beautiful girls. I knew when you said dance recitals that you meant your granddaughters, but couldn't resist the comment. :)

Many of 'my' kids were doing final dance/piano recitals the last couple weeks. I often wonder how families juggle everything, even though when I was juggling we just... did.

You were probably smiling the whole time you watched them dance. Just wonderful!

Your girls are so pretty, you must be very proud of them!
I hate alarm clocks too and much prefer just to wake up at my own time. I love the time just before waking up properly, but still not quite awake.

Congrats to both of your granddaughters... Such beautiful girls --both of them.

Hope you had a terrific Father's Day.

Both of your granddaughters are beautiful. I hope Tink decides to continue with her dance. My daughter took dance for several years, and I think she really benefited. Congratulations to Twink.

Beautiful clear photos showing how lovely your grandgirls are! And any day that begins with an alarm clock, I tried to leave behind me when I retired.

I hope I have granddaughters who take dance one day because I LOVE dance recitals! Congratulations to both of them!!

I know what you mean on the alarm clock.

It makes my day start out cranky, too.

I love how beautiful girls look at these recitals. I wonder if it gives them confidence in life? That can never, ever be a bad thing.

Lately we're doing swim meets which require a 5:45 am alarm clock.

Yikes. I'll be glad when this sport is over for sure!

These look like professional photos. The girls are so pretty and I know you enjoy seeing them put the work into learning something and then sharing it on stage with an audience. I can feel the glow of the huge smile on your face all the way over here. You are blessed.

I've tried to become a dancer at home. I practice in the bathroom before my shower. I'm not very good.
