I'm not a holiday person. Sure, I'm thankful and grateful for my blessings... every single day of the year. However, during the holidays, I go into survival mode. I just want them to be over as quickly as possible, with as little drama as possible.
I can only imagine how the Thanksgiving turkey must be feeling. I hope to fare better than he does!
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

I like that feisty turkey.
I feel the same about the holidays. It's a sad time for me. We shall persevere.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, although there are Turkey for sale, so I guess any Americans can celebrate it.
And wishing you a happy one, too.
I am allergic to turkey. I'd say a turkey would be safe here with me, but the other three family members would, well, EAT IT.
This is the worst time of year for me. Nothing but stress re: "family time". I can't wait til January 2nd.
it just makes me sad thinking of those poor turkeys.
i'm not a holiday person either.
happy thanksgiving!
This is a tough time of year for everyone. So much to do, high expectations, etc. So take a deep breath, try to relax, and have a Happy Thanksgiving. And then make the kids clean the kitchen. :-)
I like your idea best. Every day we are thankful.
Have a great day anyway!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I'll confess that I am often looking for a quiet refuge during the Holiday Season, but I do enjoy a good turkey dinner.
I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I am with you in philosophy this year! Hope you had a happy one!
Happy American turkey day Ms A!
Did you make it out alive?...lol...
Oh, Ms. A. - I wish I could get you to soak some enjoyment out of these kinda days :-)
Hey, how goes it with the cat saga?
Love the turkey and what he has to say about being 'stuffed'. LOL
Have a good day, and weekend. :)
Haaa, brilliant turkey-with-attitude pic!
I am kinda' glad we don't have Thanksgiving here, I have enough to cope with at Christmas. I do understand what you say about feeling relieved when you can just get things back to normal again, there is a certain pressure on us all (especially us women) to make everyone happy and to get everything perfect. The build up is usually worst, on the day I always end up enjoying it.
I love the holidays, but hate the craziness it often brings. I send hugs your way and hope your Thanksgiving was a peaceful one.
I removed the expectations and stress from my life and that in turn helped my enjoy holidays more. For years I could hardly get myself to use the extra energy for holiday work.
I like Thanksgiving just fine, but I despise New Year's!
I love Thanksgiving but wish that Christmas weren't so close. We don't put up a tree till mid December, feeling the need of a little breathing time.
Aw your post made me sad :o( I love the holidays and the time I get to spend with family. But then sometimes, it does get overwhelming especially when you have some a**holes as relatives....
Ditto, I wrote a similar post yesterday but with lots more words (drivel) and less entertaining pictures than you - but much the same meaning :-)
Thanks, Ms. A, that is our kind of turkey! I would let that turkey lead me into battle. We do not eat anyone with a face here. It looks from the comments that we are not alone in going into "survival mode" each for our own personal reasons. It is both reassuring & comforting yet tragic and sad to feel this level of suffering and grief. Love to all who grieve those not with them...
A happy post gobble gobble to you as well.
Hope you made it through ok. :-)
I actually love your blog so I'm following for more. I'm kind of the same with holidays and I'm sort of half glad at times we don't celebrate Thanksgiving over in Ireland. Great post!
Hope you had a 'drama free' holiday. Wish I had ; )Sometimes I think it gets harder as we get older. But I still swing for it every time : )
Peace to All and Thanks for the Memories...Thanks, Momy Dearest LUV Ya! G
I'm late, late, late wishing you Happy Thanksgiving...
So instead I'll wish you a happy start to the busy month of December!
Heck, I even later than Miss Jenny, but I hope you had a great Thanksgiving sweetie!!!
God bless ya and have a marvelous weekend!!! :o)
I hope your holiday was low key and not stressful...this year i am halfway considering not putting up a tree...just not feeling it...
Merry Christmas
Happy belated Thanksgiving. Sorry I have not visited recently. Daughter is moving out west at the end of the month, and I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
