Smoke From A Distant Fire

A couple of people have asked if the wildfires were in my area.  I'm relieved to report, they aren't.  We have been seeing the smoke on the horizon.  Prayers to everyone dealing with them.  My heart goes out to you!

My cousin emailed me some horrifying photos and I would like to share one.  I'm not sure who to credit it to, so I'll just say, "Thank you, Linda"

This (below) was my view of the smoke from the fires.  I hope that's as close as I get!

What we really need, is rain.  Desperately.

I know that look all too well. Forest fires here will never get close enough to affect me personally but it plays havoc on the air quality.

I have relatives near Austin and one said she was packed and ready to go if they told her to. I haven't seen her lately on FB, so I'm sure she did. I hope you guys get rain SOON!

I simply can't believe all the fires and the lack of rain. It's amazing and heart-breaking. Praying for rain for you all!

That's so sad...so many acres burned and so many homes lost. I hope you get rain soon!

There has been a wildfire burning near us in the Okefenokee Swamp for quite a while. Several times over the summer we had heavy, thick smoke and ash. Apparently the fire has flared up again, because the smoke was terrible this morning. They're having a lot of trouble with this fire because of the swamp conditions. I can't even imagine how bad it must be for the people in Austin...

I will give you my rain.
It's still raining and I think it stops tomorrow.
(I do not want your fire though)

Have a good weekend and be safe.

Would be pretty if you didn't know what it was. We do need rain.

How does someone find hope that it will stop when looking at that first shot? Unbelievably. I'm so glad that for you they are just off in the horizon.

First of all, please forgive me for having accidentally deleted you from our Blogs We Follow List (Drrrrr!) so this
is late but we are all thinking of you out there, after the summer you had to endure now this? Please stay safe, take good care, and now
that we just figured out you'd "gone missing" we hope you'll blog enough to calm our hopes and fears until those fires are OUT!

Wow, those are some beautiful, but sad, shots! Don't know about you, but my lungs have been unhappy the last couple of days. I nearly called the doctor for a new inhaler. Better today, though. God bless our state and all those suffering from this horrible mess!

Such scary times weather wise for so many. I'm glad you're not too close. It looks like Linda was right in the path. I hope all is well with her and that she isn't the Linda you are asking for prayers for.

So scary. I have a friend down there, too. Their well just dried up and they are about an hour away from the fires right now. Not too far when you think of how far the fires have traveled. Stay safe.

Very scary! Living in a area very prone to wild fires, I know the feeling. I hope you get some rain over there soon. Of course, the way things have been going, when it does rain, it rains much too much...
