If You Can't Duck It

Every house has it, or should have it.  What, you ask?  Duck Tape.  Duck tape can fix anything, almost.

Have you seen the choices available now?  Not just plain ol' silver, that's passé.  They offer solid colors out the wazoo and prints, too.  Camo, Fleur de Lis, zebra... I was amazed.

My granddaughter has taken to duck tape, like a... like a... like a duck to water!

While visiting recently, she whipped out her duck tape and scissors and made her uncle some new glasses!  His vision is perfect, now!  (Well, the Wavefront Lasik helped, but the glasses were totally hot)  I'll bet Buddy Holly would be jealous.  His glasses never looked that hot.

I think my daughters' milk must have let down as she snapped this one, it's all blurry.  That's a wallet.

She makes hair bows for every outfit, bracelets, wallets, pencil bags, decorates thermoses and folders and I'm not even sure what else.  Who knows, maybe if she gets really good, she'll design her own prom dress, in the future.  Prom?  Whoa, back up, I can't allow myself to think of her going to prom.  We all know what prom means.  (it means she's growing up) A duck tape dress will be hard to get out of... I HOPE!  I'll have to make certain her date has a duck tape tuxedo, too!

Just so you know there IS a "DUCK" brand tape.

Uhh, sweetie? It's duct tape. But you probably already knew that. : ) And I don't have kids but I've heard stories about Prom Night. Eek!

Where have I been shopping? I've only ever seen it in the classic silver color. :(

Uncle's got very fun glasses. I never thought of duck taped prom outfits. Parents would love that. You could make billions with that invention.

Heehee...I love how some people call it "duck" (which is actually a brand of duct tape)...and then some of us call it "duct" tape. Those glasses are too much fun!

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and holds the universe together.

And yeah, I have seen DUCK tape, too. We have a lot of it in our local crafty stores.

Someone close to me had a crude remark about it, but since this is your blog and not mine, I won't share here.

Duct tape is a staple in our household. Everything falls apart around here and it seems there is no end to what duct tape can fix!!!

Just popped over from Technobabe's blog. I loved this, so creative. Here in the UK I've only ever seen silver tape, but I'm gonna check out and see if I can get some other colours because I can think of a great many creative things I could do with it. Thanks!

I think blogger ate my comment...I'll try again! I had no idea they had animal prints and we call it duck tape at our house even if it generic brand! Me and my alter ego Peg Bundy will be on the lookout for leopard print...

I always have a ready supply of duct tape handy but I didn't know this duck tape was available in such a variety of patterns and colors. Some years ago I found a duct tape wedding complete with pics online. I suspect you could find it by searching. The wedding gave a new meaning to tacky.

Wow, I've never encountered the patterned, colourful variety such as this - how fab!! What a wonderfully creative daughter you have, I love these creations of hers!

I'm so embarrassed.

All this time, I thought it was "duct tape" and in electrical ducts.

Man.

Hello! Good to find your blog still active upon my re-entrance to the blogging world. Duct/Duck tape has enjoyed a comeback in the crafting world--your granddaughter's got it right! I've seen backpacks, purses, wallets, and yes, even prom dresses--but I think this is the first pair of duct tape glasses I've seen. Well done on her part for being original!
